Music / RAC “Unusual feat. MNDR”

Following the success of RAC’s 2014 indie-dance hit “Let Go,” which featured MNDR and Bloc Party’s Kele, the Portuguese producer invited MNDR to collaborate on a new single for his 2017 album, EGO. The resulting “Unusual” takes a more introspective electro-pop turn from their previous pairing, with most of the guitars swapped out for synths and the machinic pulse of a drum machine taking the forefront of the arrangement. As the track title suggests, MNDR offers a message of empowerment to outsiders of all shapes, colors, and sizes: “You’re more beautiful when you’re unusual.”
